This is the detailed gun model I created. I think the model is really good, but i still need to work on texturing. My hope is to hand paint extra details on the barrel of the gun, but need to fix the UVs a little to do that. I also need to add specular maps and fix normal maps.
I really like it so far! I don’t have much to say other than normal maps and smoothness/ metallic maps will add a lot to it!
Looks really clean and polished. I think the hand painted textures look really nice on the back of the gun.
I love your attention to detail with the trim of the end piece of the gun next to the opening. One thing, a lot of the gun seems to be very matte, especially the barrel and the handle. Was this a conscious decision? If not I think the barrel, at least, could use a bit more shine. Very well done though 🙂
It’s very sleek and put together. I agree with everyone else about the detail, too. An interesting idea would be to make the pole that is stored under the gun’s barrel into a separate object that can be moved, but it’s really not necessary. It’s beautiful just the way it is.
I really want to see the full design on it because I feel like it would look awesome. I feel like the gun should definitely have some sort of metallic finish or something. Great detail on the front muzzle of the gun.
I honestly don’t have much to suggest; I love the model, and I know you’re going to be adding some more texture to it. The only thing I can reiterate from class is to try and make the UV more friendly for your texture so that it will be easier for you to create them.
