Concept: The princes brought in max the magnificent to help get rid of the mice. However, max is having some trouble trying to find the mice, which displeases the princess. So because max the magnificent wasn’t really the best cat in the entire kingdom, she has decided to put him up for adoption.
Objective: The objective of this concept is for the mice to help the cat stop the princess from putting max up for adoption. By using your basic abilities as a mouse and cat, you need to find a way to strategize how
Mechanics: How you go about helping max is by running around the castle and sabotaging everything the princess interacts with by running, jumping, sneaking, and attacking enemies
Characters/Objects: The most you can do as a mouse is grab things with your hands, and chew things up with your mouth. If the princess is going to write a letter, you need to find a way to take either the paper or the pen she’s using. You can also chew up the clothes in her closet, making it hard to find something for her to wear. If she doesn’t have clothes to wear, she can’t leave to put max up for adoption. As for max the magnificent, because he would be a playable character in this game, you are trying your best to hide from the princess and all the guys she’s hired to find you. Being max I can imagine being fun because, just like mice, they can run fast and jump incredibly high. It’s also possible to hiss at humans to get them to back away, and if they get too close, you can attack with your paw and claws out. In addition to the ability of max, his claws will allow the ability to climb things like curtains and anything made of cloth.
Game world: The game world will be mostly comprised of different rooms through the entire castle. Everything takes place inside, so the outside world is pointless in this case.
Intended audience: The intended audience of this game are people who enjoy puzzle and strategy games. How I plan on appealing it to them is with the idea that you’re essentially working with the enemy (max the magnificent) against a more global enemy (the princess).
Art style: I can see the art style being like Knack, or a game called Puppeteer. It’s a little texture heavy but playful and grabs your attention with its broad color palette. As much as I love high detail, I also believe this game could benefit from a low poly, but smooth look.
