Kyle Trottier’s Detailed Game Object

I wanted my sword to like royal and expensive so I went with a very elegant design with is model and textures.  The guard features a few designs that seem very royal and the pommel is made of a giant ruby.  I wanted the hilt to seem functional so I textured a leather grip and added a normal map to it to give it depth.  Also I liked the idea of runes on the sword, so I added some on one side of the blade.

I think you did a great job overall with this sword. The rune etchings are really cool, both on the hilt and on the sword itself. Plus, the gem on the hilt of the sword is rad. The overall colors are nice, and the fact that the hilt is so round makes it look more like an actual weapon that would be used (square hilts would be hard to hold). If I was to suggest anything, it would be to possibly change the texture on the sword itself. It’s got the stripes on it, which are cool in theory, but in practice make the sword look a bit more like a rock, since swords don’t generally have stripes like that. That’s just my opinion, though. Overall, it’s real nice.

The sword design looks really cool overall. I like the engravings that you’ve incorporated and the gemstone at the end of the handle. My biggest suggestion right now would be to sharpen certain aspects of your model. The hilt and blade both look rather rounded right now, giving the sword a cartoonish feeling. If you give the sword more sharp corners in certain places, I think it would look more realistic and fiercer. Great design and color choices though. I particularly like the purple accents on the hilt.

Your sword design looks awesome. I think the blade looks a bit to round though. I think if you were to give it a bit more of an edge it would be perfect! Otherwise the engravings and everything else look perfect

The design and textures on the sword’s handle are well done. The fanciness that you were aiming for was very well executed. I would suggest possibly giving the sword a bit more shine to give it a more realistic look.

This sword gives me massive ceremonial vibes, and it doesn’t look suited for combat. However, that means its a lovely ornament piece. With the general theme of royalty and legend, this sword is amazing. All the little details and curves really make it feel special.
