Cem Alemdar – Interactive Animation

For this assignment I chose a drum kit as my static image. It is not my own drum kit but just one I found on the internet. I wanted to create unexpected sounds to come out of these drums, to not make it like a drum machine. So I made the animations first, and then created unique sounds that I thought fit the animation. I didn’t have that much time to synchronize the audio but I am satisfied with the outcome. I have 12 unique animations and sounds.

I must have been very hard to come up with 12 unique animations! They are all really good, especially the lips. But I feel as though the placement of the animations is not as intuitive. ie I’m more driven to click the water bottle than the symbol on the top left as it feels out of place compared to the drum set.

Love the animations, they really have personality.

So many animations, and they’re all unique! I like how some of them seem influenced be the expected sound, and others more by the object shape itself.

I enjoyed the amount of variety here. Lots of different animations and styles. On the flip side though I wish there was something linking all of the different interactions. Some kind of stylistic consistency would make it feel more professional, or a least less memey.
