Hey, Hi, Hello!

My name is Hannah Belan and I’m so excited to get to know/work with you all throughout this term 🙂 In the most basic terms, I am an auditory and visual art enthusiast based in Dudley, Massachusetts. There have been many artists surrounding me throughout my life, whether it be my grandfather carving and painting waterfowl, my grandmother cracking open her oils on a sunny day, or my sister taking the abstract concepts that make up a human and finding a way to sketch it into the most beautifully jumbled piece. This appreciation for art grew into love at a very young age and I found myself enamored with the world of an artist. I am now a junior in the Interactive Media and Game Design major looking to 3D model, create logos and other graphics, as well as cartoons and paintings digitally. While I was a traditional artist for most of my life, an increasing urge to digitally produce this work grew within me to the point where I was cramping my wrist drawing with my non-dominant hand with my mouse on a crappy off-brand free version of photoshop. It was last year that I finally saved up money and purchased myself photoshop and a Wacom drawing tablet (the kind with the screen, those little ones without screens drive me absolutely mad) and I have worked every day since then to develop the digital skills I need to become a stronger artist. I would love to bring more personality to my style for both my 3D models and my digital drawings, as they are currently only are recognizable through the coloring style I have. My experience in game-making amounts to character as well as monster 3D modeling, game animation loops, creating game audio for cutscenes and promotional pieces, and creating digital images for promotional pieces. As for any other creative arts I enjoy in my day-to-day life, I love pottery, painting, and sculpting when I find a relaxed moment to indulge in them, and I tend to create emotes or portraits for commission whenever I have a bit of free time. When I think of games that have particularly inspired me the first that comes to mind is Red Dead Redemption 2, a game whose beauty is second to none in my books. I have also found inspiration in cutesie games such as slime rancher or Stardew Valley, but those are definitely secondary choices. Thanks for reading through and I cannot wait to work with you all! 😀

Colorful! I give you this badge because your work uses many different colors. I really like the vibrant colors you use in many of your pieces.

The drawing of the glowing armored person exudes *darkness*, both visually and figuratively! At first I felt like it was a malicious man preparing to strike, but the sunlight shining through the back makes me wonder if they are actually fighter of darkness/evil, maybe also a bringer of light. They do glow in the dark!

I also give you the colorful badge. I like the blue and orange color combination in your illustration of a bird type creature. I also like the prop they are holding, it looks like an interesting character.

Your painting of the knight in the forest with the neon accent is really cool, I love how the glowing parts stand out against the *dark* silhouette and background!

    Hi Hannah,

I’m giving you the colorful badge! Your drawings draw a lot of different colors and styles. A really nice mix of everything and shows you are not afraid to experiment to make them look great.

    GORGEOUS!

I have no other words for you. I’ve spent minutes staring at this beautiful bird trying to think of more to say. I am choosing to give up on writing so I can appreciate birb to its fullest.
