Hello!
I’m Davina Dawson, a senior IMGD student with a tech art concentration and a minor in computer science. I also have two cats, one of which is a kitten who likes to play fetch (video available on request!)
I always dislike the ‘where are you from’ question, because its not a simple answer for me. I moved around a lot growing up, and have lived in Massachusetts (twice), Georgia, Maryland, California, and Louisiana. Honestly, there were times in my childhood where I had no idea where I even was. I usually answer with Georgia- because I spent the most time there, but really, I don’t know.
Art has always played a role in my life. Some of my oldest memories include my sister putting me to bed- drawing something for me, rather than reading me a bedtime story. I make art every day, and I will continue making art every day. My goal is to monetize it.
I’ve done all sorts of art. I have been drawing forever, and my preference is in pen. I have dabbled with painting, pastels, and various charcoals. I sometimes paint miniatures. I love 3D modeling. I also have enjoyed other creative arts in the past. I used to be quite the musical theater kid. I want to improve my modeling eye- so that I can see what needs to be fixed in my models without having to be told. I love 2D art, but my heart belongs to 3D modeling, as you will see from my 3D modeling dominated portfolio.
My game making experience is mainly formed by the classes that I’ve taken here, and the game jams that I have participated in. You can see my most recent game by clicking the link provided below- its under the patriotic raccoon.
I am inspired by all sorts of games. Lately I’ve been watching my partner play the new Doom game, and it is honestly a little mesmerizing. I have also been playing Soma, which is an existential horror game. I’d say, my most inspiring game is usually just whatever I’m playing or seeing currently.

Here is a link to a gameplay video of this game:

Ignore the bad deformation on this, it isn’t rigged yet- and the posing is just for a preview 🙂

Striking! I gave you this badge because I think your art shows you can do a lot of different things.
Furrious 7 seems like such a *funny* game! The characters are goofy but they are all so serious about the fight.
I give you the striking badge. I stopped to look at your drawing of the human figure for a while. The style and mark making struck me, left an impression, I just thought it was really cool and unique. I was also struck by the variety of art pieces.
I give you the familiar badge because I remember being in class with you for a few of these works! The room 3D model especially reminds me of how fun Ralph’s 3D modeling courses were and how much I enjoyed what you created for that course 🙂
I give the funny badge. I’m loving that raccoon, it has an enjoyable character design.
Hi Davina,
I’m giving the striking badge! Your 3D modeling representation of a bedroom looks really realistic and well textured. I had to look at it a couple times to realize this wasn’t real life. Super well done
FAMILIAR!
I say familiar because I have seen the real world before, and it took me a minute to realize the bedroom shots weren’t real.
I’m giving you the Detailed badge because your work is filled with tons of intricate details!
