I took inspiration from Frank Stella and Josef Albers’ work with varying colored squares.

I find that these works illicit a 3D effect while being 2D designs.

The proportions of the squares are very even and satisfying. It would be really interesting if a feature was added to change the brightness of the squares too.
I like the gradients in these images. Simple but effective. It gives a sense of falling into the image. I would have liked to see some some more variation of colors, though, not just darker and lighter tones.
