Ryan Doyle Short Bio

Recent Projects(Oldest to Newest)

I was interested in music from a very young age. I started taking piano lessons at age 5 and continued until the end of high school. I made some short piano compositions when I was 7. I also participated in chorus in middle school and continued that into high school as well. I also started to learn about programming in high school. I took the two programming courses offered(both working with Java) and did a programming seminar in my senior year, where I worked on creating android applications using Android Studio. I also took a few CAD courses in high school where we used Autocad, and I won 2 awards for my performance in the courses, however they were focused more on engineering as opposed to artistry.
I started attending WPI as a Computer Science major but switched to IMGD Tech after I was out for a year on medical leave and decided I would enjoy it more. Since I’ve been at WPI, I’ve learned how to use Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Animate, Autodesk Maya on the art side, Ableton Live on the music side, and Eclipse and Gamemaker Studio 2 on the programming side. It was really only at WPI that I became interested in visual arts, and I’ve enjoyed the art courses I’ve taken here so far.
Over the summer I did some work on a game using Gamemaker Studio 2 as a summer project. I also wrote a song, and am halfway through writing another one. I plan to make tracks for them as part of my humanities project this year. Among my works shown are 4 projects from my Digital Imaging course, the final project from my 2D Animation class, and a video showing the main character of my game.
