Tom Tawadros – Animated Abstraction

For this project I decided to start from scratch and not reuse my Geometric Abstraction. I wanted to get a better understanding of how Jitter functions without the overhead of previous work. I used built-in samples to create a simple beat that becomes more complex over time.

Unfortunately I didn’t have time to make sauce for this particular dish

  1. It’s a nice start for something that could be very cool if you devoted a bit more time to developing it further.

It’s cool how you used max to fully sequence the sound, it led to well-timed animations. I remember someone in class mentioned a “Live” module that allows for sequencing with midi? I’m not 100% on that but might be cool to look into.

The way how the abstraction gets more and more complex over time is really interesting. It reminds me of a roller coaster, progressively building up until the finally moment of excitement is created. It could have used at least one more different piece, but as it is, it’s still a neat experience.
