Hey everyone,
I’ve totally just not existed for awhile here but I’m here again this time. We got a lot of progress reports which I didn’t post before. Yea I know I am late by 4 hours but hey a delayed game is eventually good??? (maybe not for only one person developing..)
Anyways, lets start off with some of my texturing that I have done.
Also, as a note, I have only finished texturing about half of my intended objects (yikes) so I want that finished before the end of the term.
For one thing, you may notice there’s
- A lot of snow and ice. It’s a frozen world so you have to expect a lot of un melted snow or ice.
- There isn’t much decay but a stylized texture requirements less grunginess and more “flat” colors. Whenever I could implement a form of cel shading in Unity, it can make them pop better. Of course, I don’t feel this is perfect because even I’m confused between the line of realism and stylization.
You may also notice much later they look really bad under default unity lights when I present my level section that I have finished.
Here we go! Sensoji Pagoda that exists in Tokyo Japan!

I am really happy how the whole Pagoda fits and blends together nicely! Although there are a few texture glitches I didn’t catch until after I assembled so those will be fixed in the next pass. But we have a short little preview with a teaser of another area I’m making

The game will structure players to take two paths to the end (which is the temple) so that’s why I teased the cave (it should be okay to make by spamming crystals.) Would be really cool to see what happens when the whole thing glows!

I am seriously missing all my skyscraper buildings that will put us in an actual city
That’s all for this post everyone. Sorry for the really late updates, but I hope you are excited to see how this whole mini level turns out in the end!
