Wooden post (connector)Wooden post (large)The seesaw base has some distortion on the side which will prevent the texture from tiling perfectly. This drives me insane, but the texture isn’t detailed anyway and I was instructed to not worry about it.The seesaw itself is just a prism, and had no distortion whatsoever. This is important because it will have a somewhat more detailed texture. There are several duplicates found in the UV map, and I intend to stack the duplicates so that they have identical textures. This will let all these objects easily fit in one box and may even reduce texture work later on. I made sure that these duplicates are on opposite sides of the trampoline, so it will be impossible to see both copies of a texture at once.I reduced the poly count of this model, which gave me some strange geometry, but the UV map should be functional. The rectangles which are outside the first box will not be visible.
TEXTURES FOR SUBSTANCE
I plan to make some of my textures from scratch, but there are a few which will be made from pre-existing images.
This turf texture (and its palette swaps) will make up a lot of the level geometry.I started working with this texture already, and I got a result I’m happy pretty quickly. This is a chain-link fence texture I plan to use for certain platforms. It has transparency, so the player will be able to see it as well as the ground below it.This is literally the first tileable wood texture from Google images, but it has all the attributes I’m looking for. It transitions into itself seamlessly, it isn’t broken up by individual planks, and it has the appearance of wood which could be used in an unfinished construction project.
