Nathan Clune Modular Level Kit Concept

Much of the level geometry is going to be made of artificial turf. This colorful material is often used to build unusual forms just to be more interesting to look at and move through.

As a result, the bulk of my environment can just be just built from textured shapes, and doesn’t have to represent specific objects like furniture. These forms will not be modularized, but the world does contain several more defined objects which will be.

The slide just functions like any other wall or ground area, although it can be used to facilitate rudimentary checkpoints in the level.
The seesaw functions like a two-way catapult, as described in the game design proposal document.
The trampoline can be used to gain height and reach new areas in multiple ways, as described in the game design proposal document.
Unlike the previous examples, the wooden rails are modular level elements not because they serve as special function, but because they need to make visual sense. Shown in black are the wooden posts, which are used at the corner or the end of a fence. Shown in red are the rail connectors which can be placed next to posts or each other. I can use these two pieces to build elaborate yet modular wooden fences.
