Nathan Clune Character Animation

I posted all of the animations I have so far excluding the pound attack. I have most of it animated, but I will be able to make it look much better once I have the hands functioning in Unity.

His hands are not present in these clips because they need to be separate objects. The hands may be performing one of a few different actions, and can have their own interactions with the environment. Since these are independent from the different body actions. My options were to either export the body animations and hand animations separately, or export a different animation for every possible combination.

A basic idle animation for when Manny isn’t moving. This will only loop a few times before another animation kicks in.
A second idle animation that replaces the previous one when the player has not performed any actions for a few seconds.
A simple walk cycle which can be sped up or slowed down according to the walking speed.
Not exactly a jumping animation (since jumping is instant) but this is a short transition for when Manny is airborne. He holds the first frame of the animation while he is rising. When his y-velocity becomes zero, the animation begins to play, and stops on the last frame until he becomes grounded again.

Your animation works so well with your adorable character!

Your character is so cute and the animation style you chose to use really suits the style, very cartoony and pleasant.

I like how expressive your rocking motion is, I feel there is a soul in your character when I watch that animation. I would suggest adding a bit more follow through motion on the hat during your walk cycle. When your character steps down, perhaps their could be a bit more motion on the hat. Depending on the feel you want, it might possibly add more personality and/or communicate your character’s texture more. I’m impressed with the animations and think your character is really cute!

I love that he looks squishy and stretchy. His rocking and walking animations are really smooth!

I’m obsessed with the movement and bend in the legs- looks great!

This looks very interesting. I’ll be honest, I look forward to seeing how you end up handling the hands, as the character looks great handless to begin with!
