I attempted to create three animations for Sandy. I was thinking these animations could be played when the PC encounters Sandy (or just every few seconds). I tried to make Sandy look like they are looking around startled and also sassy. The first animation is more of an annoying glance around. The second animation has a more freightened vibe because they shift their hose uneasily. The third animation is more of a casual glance and breathing motion which Sandy might display more often. I am thinking I will look into animating their eye color as well.

I like how you’ve considered how it would move differently for different emotions. It doesn’t have traditional body parts, but you’ve taken into account how emotions affect movement overall.
Side note: In part of animation 2, Sandy when looks down and to their left while raising the end of the hose. To me it looks like they were checking their watch, and perhaps getting impatient.
Huh I didn’t notice that before but thanks for metioning it Nathan. After I added my animations to Unity and sped up the cycle, I feel the emotion turned out to be more anxious and cautious of an intruder.
I also noticed that Sandy looks like she’s checking her watch in the second animation! Your animations make it seem like she has facial expressions even though she doesn’t have a conventional face.
Your animation shows so much personality and is very cute!
I love that you were able to make a usually inanimate object have so much personality. The animation is cute and telling of the character’s personality for sure!
Thanks Hannah, I was considering animating more of Sandy’s body, but with my time constraints I’m glad you still got their personality shining through.
I like how expressive you made the character!
