Game Concept Proposal:
People: The main character in the world is an unsuspecting gardener, and the player will be playing as this character. This gardener is the only one in a massive greenhouse. They don’t remember their life before, nor how they got there, all they know is their daily routine of watering, gathering, and resting. When the game begins, they will have just woken up, and begun their daily routine.
Places: It will begin in the greenhouse, but the level will end outside the greenhouse. Within the greenhouse, you see blue skies and fields/forests outside the greenhouse. Outside the greenhouse is either a deserted wasteland or towering walls – those details will be ironed out later, for whichever is easiest. The time will be early/mid noon.
Things: The interactable objects, which will be important items, will be a watering can, a basket, and plant trimmers. The player will find them immediately in front of the house.
Style: I want to try to make the style to be realistic, though in reality it will likely be moderately stylized (slightly cartoonish). The vibe in the greenhouse should be peaceful, but outside the greenhouse it should be eerie. In the greenhouse, I hope to use more cool colors, mixed with earthy tones. Outside the greenhouse, I want warm colors, specifically a lot of orange and yellows.
Gameplay: The closest I think this game would come to with a classic genre would be a farming game. It could just be a gardening game, if the player doesn’t find the hidden exit. Otherwise, it could count as a puzzle or exploration game. The experience can be either peaceful or confusing for the player, I hope. The main mechanics should be pointing and clicking to trigger events.

I’m excited to see the contrast between the outside and inside of the greenhouse! Would the door to the outside be hidden or easily accessible?
I’m really looking forward to seeing the results of your large greenhouse!
oooo I like the lost memories idea, will it be just a explore game or will there be gardening and plant care game play as well?
I really like that you’re setting up two different player experiences here: one for players who just want to garden, and one for players who want to escape the greenhouse and explore the outside. What made you go with point-and-click style gameplay?
I think the concept of having the game loop being able to be disrupted by curiosity to be really fun! Do you think the player will be able to bring anything from their exploration back to the ‘greenhouse’ part, or will they be totally split based on their choice?
