I’m Irene Wu and I’m from Massachusetts. I’m a senior IMGD BA student. I am concentrating in technical art with the majority of my experience in 2d art. I don’t have a lot of experience in 3d, especially with character rigging and environmental modeling, so in this class I hope to improve my 3d skills.

I’ve worked in a few different kinds of 2d art and used pixel art for a class game “Sunset Meowrio Bros.” Most of my experience in games comes from the classes I’ve taken, and I’ve really enjoyed working on the concept art side of things. I tend to be inspired a lot by colorful aesthetics and mixing cute characters with interesting environments.

I’ve always enjoyed applying art to different passions of mine, so I tend to do digital art for real applications like printing on a playmat / desk covering mousepad. Here’s an example of a playmat I designed.

I’ve also taken classes in 2d and 3d animation and have really enjoyed them. Here’s the final reel from my 3d animation 1 course. I find animation interesting but definitely a challenge in 3d so I’m hoping this class can solidify some of those skills.
Outside of games, I do a lot of traditional art and physical art forms. My current favorites include crocheting, painting press-on nails, and painting with acrylics (currently working on painting a longboard!) but in the past I’ve experimented with clay, woodworking, and other various art mediums.
