My concept ended up being pretty similar to my original concept of a magic patchwork character brewing potions and solving magic puzzles, but it went from being a trinket shop to a much more potion brewing inspired workshop. The player plays as the Lady of Flowers who is working in their workshop to fix broken idioms, which was a little bit hard to show in just the level design.
One of my biggest challenges was learning to model in a low poly style. I haven’t done a lot of modeling before so a lot of this was very new to me. Even if it didn’t end up perfect I’m really happy with the progress I made and the models I was able to get done for the level.
My biggest accomplishment was modeling in what I think is a pretty cohesive style. I also am really proud of the character model. Even though it wasn’t that complicated, I think it came out really well and by using the normal maps for the textures it really made the character interact well with the lighting I decided to go for.
