Noah Hillman & Nick Sorensen: Final Project Concept

For our final project, we would like to create a living piece of music that is controlled via a handheld glove. Inside the glove there will beĀ  a heart beat sensor that will be used to control the tempo of the music, and an accelerometer to interpret gesture to play sounds over the base rhythm. The glove will wirelessly transmit the data to a max patch which will control the music and potentially have an audio visualizing patch running in the background.

A mock-up of a glove with the components:

We will have to research some of the audio and visual components that are built into max to dynamically create music instead of simply playing audio files directly (which would work but much less interesting).
