Jarod Romankiw – Interactive Paper Nature

I’ll start this off by saying my favorite hobby is photography. I grew up taking pictures, and I continue to regularly photograph the world and the adventure that I endeavor. For this project, I wanted to combine my love for photography, in a paper nature form. I decided to create an interactive camera, where the user can plug in objects into the camera and ‘take a picture’ of a scene related to the object you plug in.

Below is a mock-up camera I made out of cardboard.

Next, I will create objects that the user can plug into the camera, and when the shutter is released on the camera, and an image will pop up on a nearby computer with a photo related to the object the user plugged in.

The whole ideal with the project is to create an interactive object for people to have fun with, and maybe be inspired to take pictures in the real world.

The idea of using a model camera to “take pictures” and display them on-screen is clever. Also, the final physical model looked very clean.
