Paper Nature- Noah Hillman

For this project, I chose to make a house out of paper that can be interacted with to cause different weather effects and some normal interactions (knocking). you can interacts with different windows, the roof, the chimney, the front door, and the lightning rod to cause various different conditions that all have different audio playback. I also created a simple visual atmosphere to reflect what is happening, but I kept it very simple as not to distract from the house itself. There are a few unique interactions that can only be triggered in certain ways/conditions, such as knocking on the front door fast enough that someone answers the door, or hitting the windows during a wind storm to break it.

This was a great use of sound, and the use of light on the screen reinforces it.

Very well built paper house, especially the lightning rod. Perhaps one way for the improvement is to add one or two interactive objects outside the house — for example, a dog house — once you touch it, there will be some dog barks.

Your project is very neat and organized. The interactivity and progression from different interactions is creative. I would add more pathways and outcomes depending on interaction order.

If this was a toy I would buy it. The programming you have done for this project in Max is truly impressive and I really love the way the paper house came out as well. If you could somehow hide the Makey Makey inside the house, I feel like it would look like a product one could purchase!

Wow! You really went in depth with Max! Your house looks very clean and has an overall feeling of tidiness. I especially like the window sills, those are a nice touch.
Further, your idea to add special events if certain things happen in rapid succession is very cool. It really gives your piece a deeper sense of being alive and adds to the realism.

The interactivity of this project is incredible. The idea of various effects basing on various activities is really cool. The programming is, I believe, pretty hard and it’s definitely something I can never achieve. Nice job!

Your house is so cool! It is really clever how you made the sounds change as you touch things more than once! The only thing I would change is adding color to the house, but I also see how the clean, white look is appealing.

This project was impressive. It felt like a full point-and-click adventure game.
