Animated Abstraction

For my Animation Audio project, I decided to start from scratch and create a completely new graphic set of objects.  This time I used my favorite colors of varying shades of blue to create an animation where a bouncing torus provides a steady beat and the steady growth of the sphere and hollow cube takes on a more gradual tone.

In terms of visual code, I arranged in order of the shapes, then linked up each sound to their corresponding position on the soundboard from class and finally to the speaker output.

  1. Cool! I like the way that everything is synched to the rhythm.

This might just be a fault of the recording software, but the higher-pitched ding sometimes sounds like it is out of sync. Though, I definitely like how the sphere and the open cube scale both in and out of sync with each other.

I like how the cube and sphere grow and shrink at the same time for a bit, and then differently for a while, before re-syncing. The music has a beat but it is a bit chaotic – if this was intentional, perhaps the visuals should be a bit more random and chaotic as well.
