Jarod Romankiw – Autobiography

Hello World!

I’m Jarod Romankiw. I am a junior studying aerospace engineering here at WPI. While my career goals are set with engineering, my passion and love for the arts are strong as a hobby. I’ve explored these passions through photography, graphic design, and video production. I’ve always treated these activities as fun, and something I could do to relax during my free time.

My choice in coursework in the arts at WPI reflects my passion. I was able to strengthen my video production skills by taking the Video Production and Art of Animation courses. In video production, I really enjoyed learning about the formal process of developing a screenplay and shooting a movie, while animation taught me how time-consuming feature-length animation films are to make.

I spend my free time doing a variety of activities. As I talked about before, photography has been part of my life ever since I was a child. I’ve taken many vacations around the country photographing national parks and landscapes. More recently, I’ve been pushing myself to learn graphic design. I’ve felt this is an important topic to learn because presenting information in a neat and friendly way is important when trying to convey an idea. I’ve found this useful in all my internships, especially when making PowerPoints, Word documents, or videos.

I want to explore the connection of technology and art which is why I enrolled in this course. I believe my artistic eye and my skills with technology could yield a very creative term of art projects.

Here are a few of my recent works of art. Enjoy 🙂
