For my Paper Nature project, I used an origami fish design and repurposed the other side into the open wings of a dove in flight. Foil points on each side trigger different animations in the window, a soaring wind and cloud trip for the bird side and a bubbling underwater scene for the fish side.
It’s really interesting how you used one origami object to represent two things. I’d add some sort of state-dependent interaction that changes depending on if either the sky or the sea is displayed.
Fish/Bird duality is fun and reminds me of particle/wave duality in quantum mechanics. The model would be fantastic if you attach realistic fish scales and bird feathers on each side.
Very creative with the fish/bird. I would never think both could be on the same model. I would add some color to the fish/bird if you wanted to make improvements.
The idea of playing with an origami animal in a digital environment is interesting and I would love to see it explored further. Adding a little bit of color to your bird/fish would make it more visually engaging.
Using the origami for two different creatures is creative. I would recommend using a graphite pencil to draw on the additional details so that you can then interact with them directly. Maybe adding a model of a bird and fish into the animation would capture the idea of looking through a window to see sky and water.
The idea of two animals in one origami is amazing. And the ocean and the sky is somehow indistinguishable. It’s interesting that you make that into an artwork. I would suggest adding more interactivity, such as showing fishes in the sea and birds in the sky.
The duality of your origami is a very cool idea. Perhaps you might consider adding even more animals or even attempting to make an origami that can represent 3 animals at once!
Further, adding extra backgrounds that randomly cycle would be a nice touch. It would definitely increase the “replayability.”
Great idea having a multipurpose single origami interface. An easy way to increase the interactivity would be to add some simple animations of birds/fish flying/swimming by when you press the target again.
The double origami is a great idea and I like how you incorporated it with the background. I’d decorate the origami piece a bit more and make it more colorful.
I like the duality of the origami! I think it would be cool if you could make the prop three dimensional and/or add color or other materials to it.
Using the same shape to create two animals from opposite environments was pretty creative. If the wires could be hidden or incorporated more into the design it would be even cooler.
