Concept Proposal – Alex Boggess

The idea behind my light art project is to create an “Etch-a-sketch” with a laser pointer. This will allow the user to draw shapes with a laser by turning two dials similar to how an Etch-a-sketch works. After the user has finished drawing, the Arduino will quickly replicate what was previously drawn creating a persistence of vision effect. It could also draw a pre-programmed shape as well as take input from Processing in order to draw from the computer.

The parts that are needed for this project are as follows: An Arduino, two fast speed servos, two mirrors, two potentiometers, a laser diode, and a 3D printed enclosure.
