Laser Cutter Game Piece

For my laser cutter game piece, I decided to used acrylic. The reason I used acrylic is because I have an acrylic art piece in my room already that is placed in a light stand that lights it up. I want my piece to be able to be put in that light stand as well. The light stand piece in my room is a hockey player.

The game piece that I designed will be able to fit in that light stand and was inspired by the game Rocket League. I designed the Octane car to be engraved in the acrylic when I eventually get a chance to bring it to the laser cutter.

I did add color for printing it correctly and am not sure why it is uploading in black and white. If I fix that issue, I will update this post to show that. Drawing this on my computer proved to be way more difficult of a task than I was expecting and took a long time. In the future, I would prefer to use a stylus to make it easier. I do not have one though.

As of April 6th, I have finally completed this small project. It took me forever to get it done because I am hardly ever on campus. Last week, I was able to purchase a small pane of acrylic, and yesterday I was able to set aside some time to bring it to the WPI laser cutter. In the meantime, I also was able to figure out the color scheme for my sketch. Also, I took some time to smooth out all the kinks in my original drawing.

The end product turned out really good and I was even able to test how it worked with the light stand that I already have! I am so happy that I finally was able to get to finishing this project!
