Personal Art Practice – 3D Modeling

The goal I set for myself at the beginning of this semester was to learn 3D modeling.

I mainly practice using 3dsMax. I tried directly to create characters at first, and it didn’t work out very well. My friend suggested that I might be better off starting with items. So I created a lot of weapons to practice.

This is actually more of a familiarity with modeling. I know there is still a lot of room to improve arranging the lines, controlling the number of faces and etc.

Then I started trying to unwrap UV, and do hand-painting.

I still start with a sword.

My art major friend calls it rubbish and suggested that I should delete it and redraw it. So I’m thinking about whether she can still be my friend. But I admit that there are indeed many problems. (Also thanks Websta for showing me how to make a low poly model of this sword in zbrush.)

Forget about this ”can-still-improve-a-lot“ sword.

I started experimenting with characters. A chibi shark from Teamfight Tactics.

I haven’t had time to draw and finish it. But I plan to finish it.
