So about a year ago I actually wrote a proposal for a location-based AR using WPI’s campus. I don’t actually know what the plan for that idea was going forward but I know my advisor wants to do something with it. Looking back at this proposal, breaking it apart in different ways, and letting the chaos take over has led me to ever-evolving ideas.

My first idea that is the one I’ll be going with uses the main IMGD lab as the location. For me, this location is a place where creating art would happen and has chaotic energy emanating from it deep into the night and early hours of the morning that makes you want to run around campus just cause. I want to bring this energy to life in art that is tied to the resources within the lab typically used to create art. Art jumping out from the work stations, jumping from station to station maybe, you can see as you walk through with a mixture of 2D and 3D assets flying around. In the end, this project would not just show off student work but the energy and passion that the students have that is the core of WPI’s IMGD program.

I will update later with more example images once I locate them.

Another idea I had involved bowling and a certain studio on campus but that’s all I will say about it.
