Personal Art Practice

on

For my personal art practice I am interested in working with 3D space, objects and integrating this into my current art workflow which is usually live action video and sound work.

working with a few objects to create an AR project called Driftwood.001 this process was different because of the textures I was able to use on each of the objects. I also wrote a small script to make the objects to rotate on loop. I am currently having some issues with provisions when deploying this app to my phone.

This project I took some Lidar scans of my friend that I later animated using blender and then screen recorded the movement so that I could use it as a video clip when edited together with her dance performance showcasing these bucket hats that she made by hand.

A lidar scan that is animated inside of blender and drawn over with hand drawn digital marks using an ipad. The video clips are filmed with a digital camera and applied to planes that move around the 3d model version of the onewheel rider. This was really cool because the virtual camera in blender is running on a spline or track that allows it to loop its movements.

A lidar image I took of friends studio, I have not been able to animate it yet, but I have looked at them inside of blender and I think of the 4 models I captured there is one that I can use with the interview I filmed but I want to figure out a new way to use the camera animation to make it mix with the live action content.
A lidar scan that I took of my wife and her sister, I am still working to put additional 3d objects with this one that can make a little scene.
I am interested in recreating these as 3D models in blender, I know there is a way to take these image textures and apply them to a 3d model that can be used in 3d spaces. I have watched some tutorials on how to do the unwrapping but I have not had the level of success I want to achieve so I look forward to working on this texturing process more this semester.

I have been really interested in lidar for a while now. The technology is fascinating. I am excited to see what you do with it.
