The first order of business is to put aside the Play-doh and get some Model Magic from CC Lowells.

I created the interior base that would then be covered in super glue and aluminum can pieces. This clay base was purposefully more abstract and didn’t have to actually look like the polar bears yet.
Unfortunately, the first super glue I purchased expands 3-4 times its size and took a lot of time to dry. This made attaching the aluminum pieces incredibly difficult. I eventually purchased another brand of super glue which worked significantly better.
I covered the majority of the based with aluminum and began to focus on the detail work to create the polar bear silhouettes. Unfortunately, again, the aluminum was incredibly difficult to work with. I focused on only the big polar bear but couldn’t achieve a satisfying image. And the baby polar bear silhouette may be unsalvageable.
I’m highly considering restarting the project using air dry clay to create the silhouettes and then covering it with plastic labels from plastic Coke bottles.
