Some things working – Amanda Smith

This week my water pump and strobe light kit came in. I soldered the strobe light and it’s brighter than I thought it would be, which is good, but it is difficult to control the frequency of the flashes in small increments with the potentiometer dial. Experimenting with different methods to get the water dripping with the small pump hasn’t been going super well, but I haven’t exhausted all my options yet. I also started working with some different types of wire for the sculpture piece, and ordered some mold and plaster for creating a cast of a hand. I will work with both and see which looks better for the final.

I’ll definitely need to make a case for the strobe so it doesn’t get wet near the sculpture and pump, but I’m very happy with how bright it is and how fast the flashes can go.
