I realized I never published my post for last week so here it is:
My main goal for this week was getting my first iteration of 3D printed parts completed so that I can print the final ones next week. Originally I wanted to try to work on finishing the electronics this week as well but I ended up being busier than I expected. However, I was able to order and receive the acrylic and I aim to laser cut it earlyish next week so I can see how it fits and I can get my final 3D prints started.
Originally the bottom part was just a base and a lid, but I ended up splitting the base into two halves in order to reduce the print time, as even on very low quality settings they were a few hours over the maximum print time for the makerspace. Once all of the parts were done, I tried putting everything together, noting a few areas that were too loose or too tight. Overall though, I think the design works pretty well and the only thing left with these parts is to test them with the acrylic once I laser cut it.
