Final Project Proposal

For the final project, I want to extend the fake window. I want to make this window more realistic.

which includes adding background sound effects and animating the contents of the window.

After doing that, I thought I’d also try to animate the window itself. For example, clicking on the screen can open a window.

For making the scenery outside the window more vivid. In the class, using .gif and scaling pictures were proposed. Which one do you think might work better. Or have other ideas.

    Qianlin,

I like your idea of continuing with the window project! I liked it already, and it would look cool if you were able to make it even better!

Unfortunately I do not have a lot of experience with the .gif stuff so I do not really know how to help you there, but I am interested in seeing how you get it to work in the end!

Will you be making the scenery different now or keeping it beach themed?

This will be really cool to see when it is done! Personally, I would vote against the gif, but I think it could definitely work either way. One idea that comes to mind reading this is to do 2D images and layer them along with a parallax effect as you shift your view of the window. This could make the scene feel more alive without actually including animation.

I think GIF would be the simplest solution for the animated outside window scene and that is also what the official document told us to do to play the images: https://helpx.adobe.com/aero/using/add-animated-assets-aero.html.

And for the background sounds, maybe you can also play the sound after opening the window and mute it or turn down the volume when the window is closed?

Look forward to your final project and that must be cool!

  4. This projects is a logical extension of your AR experiment and seems within scope for the amount of time available.

Your peers have suggested some great ideas here – I encourage you to try them. I think all of this can be achieved with Adobe Aero.

    Qianlin,

I love the idea of the window opening and animating the content within the window, is it possible to have a few different results when you open the window? This could make variations to the way the work is experienced?

What type of interaction would be needed to open the window, opening as you approach the window could be a cool feature as well, but maybe tapping is better so the user does not have to move as much.

This is a really fun idea. As a kid, my bedroom was in the basement of our house. I really wanted to have windows. I wish I had this one. I agree with Darren about the interactivity of the window. Can I ask for a view of the Alps? I love the idea I read about having a different image each time the window opens. Using shutters on the window would enable you to hide what was going to show until you wanted the user to see it.
    Best of luck!
