This last week was for polishing my project, making sure that it is presentable and all of the electronics are tucked away. For this part, I decided against wrapping the ends around a large rock and instead spread them out around the center of a 12″ by 12″ board, trying to mimic the roots of a large tree. I considered covering the base with a black cloth but I liked being able to see the “roots” of the metal tree against the real wood base, giving that contrast between natural and artificial.
In addition, I cleaned up the ends of the fiber optics and attached them to the LEDs using heat-shrink tubing.

With regards to placement of the piece, I would like to have it on a table in the front of the room. Although it is a 3-dimensional product, there is a “front” that I consider to be its optimal viewing angle, where I’d like my peers to see it from.
