This week I was able to assemble the final piece pretty well, and have decided to hold off on the IoT aspect until maybe this final week.
I first laser cut the large scale mirror, which came out great. However the mirror is large and thin, which causes it to bend and warp easily, so I also got a piece of lexan poly carbonate as a clear and sturdy backing. The mirror also was thin enough that you could see the bulbs of the LEDs even in the non cut areas. To fix this I used black duct tape and wax paper to diffuse the light more.
Then I used a staple gun to arrange all my basic LEDs in an array
I then constructed a frame from wood to hold the mirror and lights, with a inset plat form to keep the mirror as flat as possible.
Everything is encased and i hope to this week polish up the overall presentation of it to look clean, be able to be hung on a wall, insure the mirror is clean and that no light leaks from other areas. If i accomplish al lof that early on, i will try and rig up a pannel of the temperature LEDs and then swap them out with the regular ones
