My presentation is on Japanese surrealism and pop/light artist Yayoi Kusama. The presentation focuses on her use of mirrors, light, repeating patterns, and space. Beginning with a summary video, this presentation covers In Infinity- Kusama’s bright yellow and dotted infinity room. Then I discuss All the Eternal Love I Have for the Pumpkins, a room full of hand-designed ceramic pumpkins. I highlighted Gleaming Lights of the Souls since it was the piece I’ve been fortunate to see and study in person, and because it is the most light-art related of her pieces.
