This week I finally got into the little theater and was really able to make my vision come to life.
I decided I wanted to use the whole space since I had it and I had enough space so that the light from one work wouldn’t interfere with another.

This was the first “work” I built, it projected the details of this blue ribbed vase onto the floor but I wasn’t happy with the spacing of everything so I ended up scrapping it for something else

I ended up switching the glass object to be the vase that started my whole project. I really wanted to have something simple that showed the idea that I started with and then have the other works show how it grew. As you can see in the other pics below it projects across the whole room while also kind of painting the area right around it .

The next area I focused on was this scaffold set up that was there. I saw a vision using this that would allow me to float the glass and give me more flexibility with the lighting. They have this lamp post with an extremely bright light on it that I tried to incorporate but it was so bright it was washing out my other projects in the room.

Here is the final version of what I did. I love how everything came out it was exactly how I wanted it. I used clear fishing line to hang and prop everything up so that I could archive the floating look. Up close the shadows show a lot more detail than they do from farther away like in this photo. I took some up close shots of the shadow in the gallery below.

The second to last work is the main one that I had been concentrating on for most of the term. This piece was kind of a struggle because I kept rearranging the order of the objects and their placements. The work is kind of ever evolving I’ve decided and there isn’t one right answer. Every arrangment adds new meaning with what comes into focus and what negative space is now created so below I have three different iterations of the piece.

Finally I decided that I would try to incorporate some form of movement into the exhibit as the illusion thats created is really stunning. I created a makeshift pendulum out of fishing wire and one of my light sources and placed this ribbed vase beneath it.
At this point the only thing I plan on doing further is better documentation. This morning I went and took a bunch of photos with a camera so now I can edit them and immortalize the work.
