Option 1: A forest diorama with LEDs in order to convey different moods. The forest will consist of trees, shrubbery, mushrooms, and crystals/rocks. I plan to 3D print a lot of the parts as I need them to be hallow to hide the LEDs. Other trees will be added to create density.
1st Mood: Natural and soft lighting will be used to create a peaceful forest. It should invoke the feeling of hiking out in the woods on a summer afternoon.
2nd Mood: Blue and Purple lighting will be used to convey a magical feel. My goal is to have LEDs inside that make it look like the bark is pulsating with magic. This will extend to the leaves which will hopefully glow. This version should invoke a sense of wonder and exploration
3rd Mood: This will be the toughest as I plan to create a dark and spooky forest. The main feature will be custom trees that hide a LED. When lit up, it should hopefully show a face. This will be hard as I have to keep the scene dark while providing some lighting for effects.
My only question relates to the overall design of the model. I am wondering what other props I can add and how they benefit each mood.

Option 2: Is the same as option 1. However, I plan to use different colored filters to change the scene. Things will become hidden or revealed depending on the filter added. I plan to create similar moods.
Option 3: I plan to wire my bass signal to some RGB LEDs. When playing, the signal would get turned into an RGB value and passed on. Hopefully, this could be easily attached to the instrument or amp. This project would be more ECE focused.
I plan on doing option 1 unless I find some unknown problem or issue.
Really interesting concept. I like the idea of using different kinds of filters to change the image. Kinda reminds me of one of these artists we talked about before.
I think using a combination of LEDs and fiber optic lights would be cool. I really like your idea of having a hidden face appear with the lights. Besides the other forest objects you mentioned, maybe you could try creating some animals like birds or snakes. Maybe a picnic table or a pinwheel that moves? Not sure if that matches the vibe you are going for.
The piece looks very appealing and I cant wait to see the maquette for this one. The only concern I have is for the model. It might need a strong base to hold it steadily, as the top of the model might be very heavy especially after you insert the LED.
