With this I was able to use the accelerometer to turn on the neopixels

Failures

My main failure was ordering the wrong part to step up 3V to 5V to power the neopixels. I ordered a step down converter by mistake> Until I have the correct part, I cannot power them with the battery alone.

This is the part I was intended to order.
