Julian Poindexter Introduction & Portfolio

Introducing Me!

I am a junior RBE major with a minor in CS. I have been doing traditional and digital drawing as a hobby for most of my life. That being said, all of my non-self taught experience comes from classes here at WPI. In my time here I’ve learned a log more about traditional drawing and 3D modeling.

My major has given me a pretty wide range of technical experience. I have reasonable skill in CAD design and 3D printing, programming, and basic circuit design. The software/programming languages I am familiar with includes Solidworks, Maya, Zbrush, C++, Java, and Python. I’ve mostly used this experience to build robots for my major, but I make and print CAD models for personal projects.

I’m very inspired by videogames when drawing or making things. Portal, Fallout, and Hollow Knight are some of my favorites. I would really like to emulate something stylistically similar to one of those games for my project.

Hi Julian, I will give you the Quirky badge. I just totally love your frog in a suit piece. I like the chill, mellow tone of the colors. I vibe with it heavy.

i’m giving you the impressive badge, because you seem very skilled in a wide variety of art forms and styles! the 3d model is super detailed and looks like it would make a great miniature figure, if it could be printed at a high enough resolution 🙂

Gorgeous! The artwork looks extra fine to me. I especially like your drawing. The frog in a suit one gives me a lot of Rusty Lake vibes!

IMPRESSIVE: That digital portrait is so clean! I really dig the style, especially the curls in the hair. And the color scheme fits perfect.

COLORFUL: Digging the use of color in your digital pieces. It’s gentle but focused.
