Failure and recalibration

on

This week I worked on setting up my EL wires and getting the control board soldered and coded. I thought it was going to be more time consuming but after the initial soldering the rest was fairly plug and play this gave me time to get started on my design. although I am still unsure what design I am going with my top choices right now are:

  1. greyhound running
  2. bird flapping wings
  3. figure walking/ moonwalking
  4. figure backflipping

One issue I ran into this week was while I was experimenting with bending the wire into shape. I decided to go with the “bendable” wire instead of the regular wire because I thought I would be easier to shape. Unfortunately the bendable wire is much thicker than the normal wire and it also has a metal wire interior so it holds shape. This actually worked against me because it means I wasn’t able to make sharp corners because the wire was to thick. I now reordered more wire in the thinner version and it should be here today hopefully it will easier to bend into the shape I am looking for.

the orange is the normal wire and the rest are the “bendable” kind. you can see the difference in thickness
