Polish and Present

For my final project, I created an 8″ square hand cut-paper light-box that consists of layers of paper each cut to portray a different aspect of the final image. In order to present this piece, I put the box in an extremely dark environment and shone an industrial-style light directly behind it. This is the result:

Box in as close to complete darkness as I could possibly attain

In person, there is a bit more light that comes through, but there was not much I could do to make it any clearer, so this is final product.

Overall, I am quite proud of my completed work. Getting the chance to experiment with and learn about a medium I had never dared to try previously was incredibly rewarding, and I think it serves as an excellent end to my time in this course. With leftover materials, I hope to work on creating more of these, as it was a surprisingly calm activity. In the future, I hope that I can continue to explore my love of art, and translate that into new and exciting experiences.

Thank you all for your support and guidance throughout the process!
