Cut-Paper Light Box

So, this is the final product! I am very excited to see it completed (and I must admit it does look better in person).

In order to structure the box itself, I was able to use a shadow box that I got at Michaels, as well as spacers that were meant to be cake support sticks. I used an 810 lumen bulb, as well as a 1150 lumen bulb (the 810 came out much better in photographs), in a clip on base generally used in construction. Other than that, the design and other components came directly from me and my brain!

I had a great time working with all of you, and am excited to see all of your work as well!

This came out really well, and I am glad that the lightbulb ended up working, I think that everything is illuminated just enough!

I have always thought that light boxes were a very interesting way to create depth where there is none. I think that your image works really well with that illusion of depth and the lines are very clean. The orange color makes it look as if it is sunset or sunrise.

This piece turned out super well, I like how all the mountains flow into each other. I especially like how you cut out sections of layers in order to make the peaks of the mountains look white and give the clouds depth and contrast.

I love your final project! I think it looks awesome and your paper cutting skills are impressive. I love how the scene looks 3D and the light shines brighter through the top pieces, almost like the sun! Really great job.

I think your project looks wonderfully clean and rustic. I am impressed by your expressive mountain ranges and your expertise in varying line width. I actually really like the earthy brown colors. I would love to put this work up as a decoration somewhere.

I think the lighting choice was really good as it creates a really great sunrise appearance as well as diffuses nicely across each layer, overall your project came out really well!
