I dreamed for many years of building a video synthesizer. When I was studying Art and Technology at SAIC, their Dan Sandin IP was legendary but non-functional at that time. Later, I got to do an amazing residency at the Experimental Television Center and indulge my desire to delve into video synthesis using 1960s-1970s instruments.
This is a digital synth that is inspired by analog video synthesis and video feedback. The software is WAAAVE_POOL by Andrei Jay. The hardware build and UI design is all mine, featuring a laser cut enclosure with mahogany end caps, glow in the dark panel engraving, and composite or HDMI output.
