Especially when very wet roads at night reflect car headlights and stop lights. When I saw it was raining today I was hoping I could capture a scene on the road, but unfortunately, there was very little rain left on the road by the time it was night. I discovered this after going on a hunt to find a puddle or road I could get a nice photo of reflection on. However, there are some flat metal? tables in front of the building I live in which still had a lot of water left on them. Here&#8217;s a picture I captured from the table:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh7-rt.googleusercontent.com\/docsz\/AD_4nXeq64BHMxT5vkkCtwX5F_yJprmfzgUYJXlp95hG-yy0XYL5RmtoBxOPpJ1N35EVrhCyCM5f8rKXBgbClxpICFwpIwSrl6IxpE9bvkR87Qb0o-ZJfyJqGe-R95ALE94unK0cJrgh?key=V-V5BbjoKg4bZ8_Y8gMLhbo0\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>And here&#8217;s a very quick (and haphazard) colored pencil sketch of it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh7-rt.googleusercontent.com\/docsz\/AD_4nXfYcZKfzGtH0rUEL9CPEcrpVFDtudsSPkogoKXjQp0ogB4RvtuDT58WzS7w47EB_KxtP3LW_Mlm25cryH8_-V833-tMewc1zM_me2bBlTYVD-usMTZXum_B_etLFhk1sA5fz9lp?key=V-V5BbjoKg4bZ8_Y8gMLhbo0\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Even though there are many flaws with the sketch above, I found making it led me to realize a lot about how this type of reflection works. The farther from the top of the reflection you get, the less detail, especially in places that are not a light source. Additionally, I really found how the camera picked up the light from the light pole differently to be interesting. The astigmatism-like depiction of the real thing versus the aura-like depictions of the reflection (which is closes to how most people see it).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ever since I was little, I&#8217;ve always been fascinated by how rain on the ground reflects light.
