Hi, I’m Ian Cody and I’m from Marblehead MA. I enjoy using art as a creative outlet to relax and decompress. My favorite mediums are painting, woodworking and cooking. I have some experience making digital art through different classes at WPI, including Video Production and Music Technology, shown in the two attached videos. Music is most definitely my biggest creative inspiration. I enjoy almost all genres of music, but some of my favorites are rock, folk, house, reggae, and rap. I do not have any experience creating music, however I want to learn how to play guitar as it would be another excellent medium for creative expression.
Another place I take creative inspiration from is nature. I love being outdoors, especially in the mountains or ocean, through hobbies such as skiing, hiking, and surfing. These inspirations are shown in the light-up topographical map and ski door mural shown below.
I hope to continue being inspired by these topics as well as discussions with everyone in this course as I develop a light art project.

The badge I’m giving you is colorful! All of your work uses colors beautifully, including your cooking which looks delicious.
Your work is awesome! Your depiction of the skier is particularly striking; the amount of detail you were able to retain from the snow cloud is very impressive!
Striking. Your painting of the skier is great, and the map is fascinating, not only to look at but also the materials and mechanics behind it.
