During our introduction to light art, I was really fascinated with light projection and shadows: particularly the work of Anila Quayyum Agha. I decided to look more into some of her work and found several beautiful pieces including the following:
For my light exploration lab, I wanted to play around with shadows and projection myself. My particular purpose for this experiment was to see how the size of the surface being projected through affects the size of the actual projection.
For this experiment, I used a carboard box and cut out different sized holes.
Then, shone my phone light through them.

Pretty self-explanatory.
Discoveries/New Considerations
From this experiment, I noticed that as the hole gets bigger the projection gets dimmer. This is important to take into consideration as one wants what they are projecting to be as clear as possible.
Additionally, the placement of the whole and projection apparatus will be important considerations to get the desired projection affect.
Additional Experimentation
Playing around with it a bit, I wanted to try actually casting a shadow.

And I wanted to see about adding color.
