I really liked the idea of telling a story through the piece, but the stories I wanted to share seemed to mellow for flasing LEDs. So I shifted the layout of the project to be kind of like an optical illusion. When you look at it from one angle you will see one piece, and another angle is another piece. The pieces will be interlayed but at opposing angles and each piece will be under the same LED light colours.
I made some test prints using acrylic!

FUTURE ADJUSTMENTS:
- Adjust angle of pieces
- 3d print base
- Create baseboard with LEDs
MATERIALS:
- Black acrylic OR wood paint
- LEDs
- Clear acrylic
Questions:
- Not sure if I want it enclosed in a box, but each panel will be backed with black acrylic or wood so the LEDs from different panels don’t bleed over.
I really like the theme of a story not being apparent from all angles/ at first glance. If you end up going the enclosed box route you can use the website MakerCase to generate a laser cutable box.
I like the way it looks from the front being able to see all the panels at once. I know that’s not the intended effect, but it looks like a great start!
I think this is really cool!!! Your prototype showed this concept so well it was really effective. I liked how you tilted it a bit when presenting so we can see the effects
