My name is Taylor Frederick (she/her) and I am from Santa Barbara, CA. I am studying art as my humanities depth topic currently, so art is involved in my goal of graduating. I have really enjoyed doing art as my depth because it allows me to have a creative project I can work on and gives me a break from my other engineering focused courses. I have taken AR 1100 Essentials of Art which exposed me to different design concepts and drawing techniques. I also took AR 1101 Digital Imaging and Computer Art which taught me more about composition and how to use Photoshop. I just took Art in the Makerspace with Professor Rosenstock which was a really fun experience. It taught me how to use prototyping equipment and how to use the equipment to make art. Some of my other creative pursuits include dancing and crafts such as sewing, knitting, crochet and others. I also enjoy the process of mechanical design and it is the focus of my studies.

Hi Taylor,
Your artwork is so beautiful! I would award your portfolio with the ‘familiar’ badge. Each of your pieces brings out a feeling of nostalgia, for example, the twirling ballerina! Great job, I look forward to seeing your project for the rest of the course!
Striking – I like the high contrast colors in your pink and black piece. I also really like your chalk pastel still life, the lighting on the spoon and apple is really good.
Familiar – I liked the lamp and the 3D printed ballerina a lot! As @VANSHIKA said, such nostalgia!
Hi Taylor, I’d like to give you the shiny badge because of the really cool Tangled piece as well as the ballerina which also has some shine to it!
Badge ~ “Shiny”
The use of the light source in your featured image adds another element to the designs throughout the figure.
Hi Taylor!
Id like to give you the – clever- badge. These are all so creative and different from one another! My favorite is the box of light! I have nyctophobia so I am a night light enthusiast.
Shiny! Your tangled lantern is so cool! I remembered in the Art in the maker space class when you showed the lantern I was so shocked on how cool it looked!
Gorgeous – I simply amazed by the mechanism with moving ballerina! It seems that you have quiet a lot of skills using different instruments for your works, I am looking forward to exchaning our kowledge with each other soon!
