Hello everyone! I am Georgy and this is my short art portfolio for Light Art class.
As a kid I spent most of my free time walking outside (no matter what the weather is doing) and observing my surroundings. I am originally from Moscow, Russia, so there was always something going on the streets. It tought me how to contemplate and turn simple things into beautiful products of my imagination. When I turned 7 my parents showed me how to play piano. Since then, I have never stopped exploring the world of sounds and music, slowly shfting focus to other forms of muscial expression. I learned how to DJ at the age of 16 and have been practicing it ever since.
The moment I came to US, a lot of other forms of art opened up to me. I have started experimetning with collaging, film photogrpahy and modeling. I picked up mathematics pretty well in school, especially geometry, and it helped me to choose Architectural Engineering as my major. Main part of our architectural studios was creating physical models, what eventually spurred my passion for material experimentation.
My first ever collaboration and, the most recent thing that I have done, was an audio-visual show performed in Alden Hall this February. My friend Cole worked on visuals, while I was responsible for audio component of the show.
