My name is John Lemieux. I live in the Massachusetts area, closer to the Rhode Island border. I am a sophomore that is studying electrical engineering. Right now, I mainly view art as a hobby. I don’t want to go into it as a career, due to how I feel that I may not like doing it full time, but I still love to do it in my free-time. I have experimented more with physical art forms, such as using pencils, colored pencils, paint, origami, and other different physical forms. The only digital pieces that I have made were when I took AR 3200, in which we used electronics to make digital art. I have been an Electrical Computer Engineer now for the past 6 years. I have had a lot of experience working with physical circuits, programming microcontrollers, and troubleshooting circuitry. I really enjoy learning about the electrical field and the different aspects that come with it. Most of my hobbies that I do in my free time include reading and working out at the gym. Most of my creative inspirations come from recent achievements. For example, a recent work that I am proud of is where we had to draw a human with animal traits. The image was based off of my goal to look more professional by wearing vests and buttoned-attire. I really like wearing this attire and I wanted the image to express the confidence I feel when wearing it. The image will be included in the below images. I don’t have a creative outlet (nor social media accounts besides discord and slack). Here is a link to my recent AR 1100 portfolio: Link.
This was the human-character project mentioned above
This was practice to understand realistic proportions and shading.
This project was about using colored pencils to give the illusion that it was done using paint

Hi John,
I would give you the ‘inventive’ badge! All of your artwork is very unique and in a style I have never seen before, this is all really cool!
detailed – your sketches are very intricate
Dark – because you do a lot of charcoal work (sorry that’s kind of a stretch). Your charcoal shading is really good, I also enjoy drawing and painting skulls and I know it can be a paint to get all the shadows right.
Impressive – I am a tech guy and can do no drawing at all – but you did it so well!
Hi John, I’d like to give you the detailed badge because of the incredible detail on your sketches as well as all the code that went into programming the microcontrollers.
Badge ~ “Dark”
Dark can sometimes have a negative connotation, but in terms of your sketches, the shadows you mentioned make the skull and eye look realistic.
Hi John !
Id like to give you the – detailed – badge! Your eye is very realistic, and I am very into the realism side of art !
impressive – Guitar hero and space invaders on a micro controller sounds super hard! Amazing work!
Wow, great work with pencil sketches! I like how deep and inventive your process is.
